Milliamp Technologies are pleased to announce sponsorship of the Lancaster E-Racing team, the Formula Student UK entry from Lancaster University, in preparation for a competing entry in the July 2018 event.
As a supporting local company, we will endeavour to help out where we can to provide technical & manufacturing advice, an insight into the electronic engineering industry and access to our invaluable little black book of contacts!
As many of Milliamp’s staff are Lancaster University Alumni, we are keen to help develop enterprising and innovative student engineers and encourage more young people to take up a career in STEM – science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Supporting projects like these is a great way to show that jobs in engineering, sometimes considered dull, can be exciting and exhilarating, with Formula Student cars being able to race at up to 70mph. The competition is setting the benchmark for the next generation of engineers who will change the world over the next 20 years as electric vehicles take over from their petrol counterparts.
Formula Student UK is Europe’s most established educational engineering competition and forms a large part of the 4th year Engineering Masters degree at Lancaster University. Each team is tasked to produce a prototype for a single-seat race car for autocross or sprint racing, and compete in an annual competition at Silverstone race circuit.
