Milliamp is about to get organised!!! Robbie Crowther has joined our team this month to add some much needed project management expertise. Robbie comes from a retail background where he had responsibility for managing a number of outdoor retail stores, overall stock management, organising suppliers and dealing with difficult customers (not that Milliamp has any of course!). Helping organise inventory will be especially useful when we add extra space by expanding into a new secret location in a few weeks time!
Robbie is also taking the lead helping the enrolment and retention of participants on the Tech Lancaster Electronic Skills Programme. Tech Lancaster is a collaboration of 6 electronics based companies in the Lancaster area that has been formed to address the skills gap in the electronics and technology sector. We are committed to challenging perceptions, encouraging diversity and increasing accessibility to careers in the electronics industry.
The Tech Lancaster programme specialises in ‘fast-tracking’ suitably skilled people through a combination of online learning modules and lab-based tuition to make them work-ready for local employment in our sector. It is a particularly challenging time in the workplace at the moment and we would like to encourage people to give electronics a try, you never know it may be the perfect career choice for you!
